Here is a poem about Pippi’s adventures at Shady Oak during the month of December 2013.
Pippi arrived in December with a glint and a twinkle in her eye.
Hello children, here I am perching on this branch up high.
It’s time to have some fun with these potato headed creatures.
Eyes, noses, ears and tongues, what to do with all these features?
Making new friends at Shady Oak, is one of my favorite things to do.
Some dinosaurs, a cat, a teddy bear and even a blue hippo!
I tried to meet the cuckoo that’s rumored to live in this clock.
But it keeps disappearing each hour. I think I gave it quite a shock!
What fun we had on Polar Express day, wearing pajamas and drinking cocoa as well.
Children everywhere and even some adults are enchanted by the sound of Santa’s bell.
Sometimes I’m not so easy to see and I like to cause a little mischief.
I’m camouflaged well as I sit inside this red and white Christmas wreath.
Wind chimes can bring peace and calm, during this hectic advent season.
But at Shady Oak we always remember that ‘Jesus is the reason for the season.’
A birthday note for Mrs. Trigger, I’d like to simply say,
‘A very Happy Birthday to you on this, your special day.’
The Shady Oak craft angels have been busy, nativity sets they’ve been painting.
I’m sitting here with the sheep, watching, listening and waiting.
It’s feeling more like winter today, some hot cocoa will warm me up.
The milk is poured, the cocoa is stirred all in this big red cup.
I’ve been watching the Shady Oak children their kindness knows no bounds.
‘Please’ and ‘thank you,’ I often hear, to my ears most pleasing sounds.
My time here is nearly at an end, a gift of paper snowflakes I will leave.
Be kind to each other all the year through. But most of all believe.
